St Ives Junior AFL is a parent-run, community-focused club that fosters a positive culture where all kids can learn and enjoy the great game of AFL.

We are committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and family-friendly environment, ensuring every child, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to participate, grow, and have fun.

Our son joined St Ives AFL this year as an Under 9, and it has been the highlight of his week. The coaches make every session fun, and the focus is always on having a go rather than being perfect. He’s made so many new friends, and we’ve loved seeing how inclusive the club is with kids of all abilities. It’s such a warm, supportive environment — we couldn’t be happier.

Our daughter plays in the Under 11s at St Ives, and the sense of belonging she feels is incredible. The club has created a space where every child is welcomed, encouraged and celebrated. She’s grown in confidence, learned teamwork, and most importantly, she genuinely enjoys every game and training session. As parents, we appreciate how inclusive and family-focused the whole community is.

Having a teenager in the Under 17s, we’ve seen firsthand how St Ives AFL supports players as they grow. The coaches and volunteers treat every player with respect and make sure the environment stays positive, inclusive and fun — even as the game becomes more competitive. Our daughter feels valued, stays active, and has built friendships that will last well beyond footy. We’re grateful to be part of such a fantastic club.
